SUNFLOWER & JOJOBA MAKEUP REMOVER
YIELD: ABOUT 2 OUNCES TIME: 15 MINUTES
GOOD FOR: ALL SKIN TYPES
Jojoba oil, which is most like our skin’s natural sebum, pulls out impurities and
balances oil production. The balancing of your skin’s natural oil is key in
keeping pores healthy. The basic rule for oil cleansers is that oil attracts dirt and adheres to it, thereby removing it from the surface of your skin. Not every oil out
there will balance your skin’s natural oil production, of course, but the oils
included in this recipe are great to use as indicated. This includes the other
wonderful oils in this recipe!
ingredients
1 tablespoon sunflower oil
1 tablespoon jojoba oil
2 teaspoons avocado oil
2 teaspoons apricot oil
Method
1. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.
2. Transfer to a small airtight container. A dropper bottle works well to keep this product in for ease of
dispensing on the cotton round or to make it attractive for gifting!
TO USE: Moisten a cotton round with a quarter-size amount of cleanser and softly wipe over your face.
Double-cleanse if desired.
STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months.
USE: As needed to remove makeup
DID YOU KNOW?
Sunflower oil is common for cooking but not used as much for skin care, though it should be. It is high in
linoleic acid as well as oleic acid, palmitic acid, lecithin, and vitamins A, D, and E. I like to use this oil
because it is easy to find and is wonderful for skin. Its suggested shelf life is 3 months, but what you don’t
use for cleansing, you can use for cooking.
