Faster than the state bird (the mosquito), and almost as ubiquitous, the
Alaskan bush plane provides an important network of passenger and
freight transport. But dropping off adventurers into the remotest corners
of the state is only half of what these remarkable craft can do.
They can
land you on a glacier 7200ft above sea level, deftly circle the highest
peak on the continent, and give a live satellite view of the top of the
world. Time to abandon your fear of flying and take to the skies.
